Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Innovation
Worcestershire based, Proteus Instruments, a trading division of RS Hydro has been honoured with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation. The team are extremely proud as this is a huge achievement and the highest accolade for any UK business.
Proteus Instruments is one of only 51 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation. The accolade was announced on Thursday 21 April 2022 which is the Queen’s 96th Birthday.
Proteus Instruments was set up in 2018 and is the world’s first scientifically proven real-time sensor platform to accurately and reliably measure BOD, COD, TOC and Coliforms in a wide range of water quality, environmental and industrial applications.
Rob Stevens, Proteus, Managing Director explains ‘Proteus represents a break-through disruptive technology that can change our whole perception of organic load monitoring. It has the power to touch all of our lives but will only happen if innovation is allowed to flourish; that means being open minded and believing that there are better and more meaningful ways to monitor parameters such as BOD5 and coliforms. At Proteus we believe the tide is turning and that Proteus will be pivotal in helping the world to protect its people, its resources, and its environments. We are actively working with organisations such as the UN, World Bank, Water Companies, Environmental Regulators, Innovation Facilitators, and our distributors to spread the world’.
Now in its 56th year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the country, with winning businesses able to use the esteemed Queen’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.
The team at Proteus Instruments are honoured to win the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in Innovation. The entire team at RS Hydro and Proteus Instruments are passionate about what they do. The Award can help in raising awareness of important issues in helping to monitor our rivers and bathing waters. Only 14% of our rivers meet good ecological status; so, by promoting this awareness and combining it with this innovation, we will not only be able to monitor the water quality of our water resources more effectively, but we will also be able to manage them, not just in the UK but globally.
