Why did you apply for the Queen’s Awards?

Proteus Instruments, a trading division of RS Hydro has achieved incredible success over the last few years winning flagship projects across the world and regularly achieving world firsts for applications.

Proteus Instruments was set up in 2018 and is the world’s first scientifically proven real-time sensor platform to accurately and reliably measure BOD, COD, TOC and Coliforms in a wide range of water quality, environmental and industrial applications.

What has winning the Queen’s Awards meant for your business?

Proteus Instruments are honoured to win the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise: Innovation. The entire team at RS Hydro and Proteus Instruments are passionate about what they do. The Award can help in raising awareness of important issues in helping to monitor our rivers and bathing waters.

Only 14% of the UK’s rivers meet good ecological status; so, by promoting this awareness and combining it with this innovation, we will not only be able to monitor the water quality of our water resources more effectively, but we will also be able to manage them, not just in the UK but globally.

The presentation ceremony was a great way for the whole company to join together and showcase to the world what innovative technology Proteus is, and in winning the Queen’s Awards the team felt their hard work had been recognised.
